Navigating the Ups and Downs of Life with Bergen Dad

Climb every mountain and weather every storm.

Welcome to Bergen Dad, the men’s blog that understands the complexities of modern life. Our founder Martin created Bergen Dad as a platform to help his fellow men and fathers navigate through life’s ups and downs. Inspired by the mountains and the hymn I lift my eyes to the mountain from where my help comes, Bergen Dad is a symbol of strength, support, and guidance. Here, we’re dedicated to offering insights and advice that encourage and uplift.

At Bergen Dad, we know that life can be messy and chaotic, but we believe in the beauty that lies in every experience. We are not perfect, but we strive to uplift and encourage one another to keep going when the going gets tough. Whether it’s parenting, career, relationships, or mental well health, we’ve got your back.

Martin and his wife reside in New Jersey with their six living children. Bergen Dad draws its inspiration from Martin’s passion for hiking, illustrating how mountains, though intimidating at first, the journey becomes less intimidating once it starts, enabling one to appreciate the hike’s beauty.

UPLIFTING MEN

IN EVERY WALK OF LIFE

Bergen Dad is under the patronage of St. Joseph. His virtues of humility, hard work, and devotion are what we aim to emulate and inspire in our readers.

So whether you’re looking for advice, a supportive community, or just a space to share your story, Bergen Dad is here for you. Join our brotherhood of men, and let’s climb those mountains together.

I created Bergen Dad because I wanted to spend more time with my children and wife. In my previous job, I was away from home for 11+ hours a day, only returning in time for dinner. Bergen Dad is a gift inspired by St. Joseph, aimed at encouraging fellow men through the highs and lows of life. Courage! You are not alone. You matter. We are here to remind you that your presence and role in your family and in the world hold immense value. Let’s navigate this journey together, inspiring and uplifting each other every step of the way.

CALM IN

THE STORM!

Rembrandt’s Christ in the Storm on the Sea of Galilee stands as his most compelling narrative work and America’s only seascape by the artist, marking a masterpiece in art and one of my favorite paintings. Created in 1633, this work signifies Rembrandt’s early Amsterdam period, showcasing his burgeoning reputation for portraits and historical scenes.

The painting vividly portrays a biblical story where nature’s fury and human vulnerability collide, showing the disciples in panic as they face a tempest, with Christ as the calm amidst the storm. His calming of the storm and the disciples’ fear serves as a powerful metaphor for faith and God’s control over life’s turmoil, offering a message of tranquility and assurance in moments of despair.

His response to the disciples’ pleas highlights a powerful message: “Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” before he commands the storm to cease.

For me, this painting is an inspiration, reminding us that amid life’s challenges, God can always calm our life’s storms. Courage! God is in charge. A good friend always told me that God is good, all the time. May she rest in peace.
